Re: Good samaritan
My best friend delivered her son there last September. She also went into preterm labor and was in the hospital for a few days trying to stop her contractions, etc. Her son came early at 35.5 weeks. She has always raved about her experience at Good Sam, despite all that she had to go through. Her son was in the NICU for about a week and she has nothing but wonderful things to say about the NICU team. She says they are amazing! You can read her birth story here (she is no longer on LIF but used to be!). HTH!

Re: Good samaritan
I had a great experience there both in preterm labor and when I delivered...the nurses were so incredibly sweet and patient and then when the baby had jaundice, they were so attentive and we called all the time to check on the baby overnight...

Re: Good samaritan
I JUST got home from Good Sam last night after delivering on Friday.
You have nothing to worry about -- they are pretty damn amazing there. From the staff in labor & delivery to the nurses on the maternity floor, and in the NICU -- we loved every nurse we encountered. I was there for 5 days, and we dealt with so many people. But the nurses were my favorite by far.
They were very attentive and nurses who handled me on Friday or Saturday remembered me on their next shift and were so sweet and asking about how our baby was doing in NICU. Anything I needed, they got fast and were just extremely helpful.
The only time I had a complaint with Good Sam -- involved when we were trying to find out what was going on with our baby while she was in NICU, and I personally felt the neonatalogist was not communicating with us as well as he should have. At least the NICU nurses were doing their best to ensure I had information. When we finally let them know that we were frustrated, the neonatalogist resident that was on that day, came down personally to my room and let me know he would take care of everything...which he did.
