registered
so, i registered yesterday. I was about 3 seconds away from throwing the scanner and storming off but then I was saved by this wonderful woman at BRU who actually KNEW WHAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT. phew. DH was getting scared- ha ha ha.
Long story short- I liked the look of the Peg Perego Pilko P3 (something like that)- but trying to collapse it- well, DH had parts flying off and then the stroller ate his flip flop (I know, too funny).
After seeing a 220 pound man wrestle with the stroller, I decided to move on.
We decided to forego the big stroller and do the snap & go system along w/ a light weight maclaren stroller- has anyone decided to go this route?

Re: registered
Congrats on making it through the registering process
The entire stroller thing overwhelmes me. I went with the Chicco travel system based on great reviews, ease of use when I tested it in the store and recommendations from various people.
I had a hard time with the Peg Perego Pilko P3 in the store as well. My DH got frustrated and walked away.

Re: registered
I also did not register for a Travel System. After reading 1000's of posts from this site and others, plus help from Baby Bargains...I decided it wasn't best for me.
I registered for the Graco Snugride infant seat and the graco snap 'n go. Once DD grows out of that...I registered for the Inglesina Zippy stroller. It was between the Zippy and the Pliko 3. Although I thought the Plikos had better designs...I thought the Zippy was a little easier to open/close. But I probably would have been happy with either.
I also registered for a Chicco C5 umbrella stroller, which is super light.

p.s. hope your DH's flip flop is ok

Re: registered
Yikes! Are you all saying the travel systems stink? I havent thought twice about getting one bc hey...it comes with everything. Is it really a PITA or just some of them. Oh and as for your experience...that s#x! The baby registrys are probably as fun as wedding registrys...the help ASSUMES you know everything and they stand behind the counter and BS.

Re: registered
the reason why I didn't want the travel system was in the end I thought it was too heavy- some of them are close to 20 pounds if not more- that's without the kid and all the other stuff in it! I wanted something a little more agile- i thought the snap and go system fit my needs of being 1) light and 2) agile and 3) very easy to open/close. Also- I live on the 2nd floor- I just couldn't imagine myself lugging the big travel system around- it would have to live in the car on a perm basis- and b/c I don't have an SUV and refuse to buy one, it would kill my trunk space.

Re: registered
Dina, that is sooooo funny. I could just picture it. When we went stroller shopping, DH, my mom and I stared at the stroller for 15 minutes trying to figure out how to collapse it. The guy finally come over and helped us and we felt so dorky because it was so simple
Sorry, I didn't go the MacClaren route, although I thought about it. I got a BumbleRide Flyer and the Snap N Go.
ETS: I just read that you live on the 2nd floor, and that's the same reason I didn't go with a Travel System. And, I found them to be very bulky and heavy and not constructed very well, JMHO. I think you made a great choice!

Re: registered
We went with the snap n go and the maclaren..it was a tough call but the maclaren is so easy to work with and by the time you are out of the snap and go it will be perfect for the baby!!

From a BTDT Mom, IMO this is definitely the way to go. I registered for the travel system and it was WAY to heavy for me. So, I returned it for the Snap n go, which I loved. He grew out of it and is now in the next stroller. (I can't remember the make and model of it but I love that too.) I've heard good things about Maclarens too.

Re: registered
I sympathsize with you. We went yesterday to "finish" the registry. Thank God I got a really good start with my friend who has two little ones. DH never would have made it if he was there the first time too. We still have a few more things to figure out, but the end is in sight!
