scared to iinject myself- WE DID IT
and im even scareder to have DH do it. What do I do?!?!?!!? its follistim
i know you ladies say its not a big deal but this is my first time. i dont know if we can do it. should i wait till tomorrow to see if i can get a nurse or a doctor to do it for me?

I felt much better after reading all of your comments- thank you so much, that was all i needed!
Im such a baby!!! It was NOTHING!! I iced it for 5 minutes. DH was so nervous he forgot to clean my skin first. oh well. he did a great job!

You can do it! Just keep telling yourself that and honestly before you know it, it is over. Of all shots, Follistim did not hurt or sting. Good Luck!!!

I had an issue giving myself the Ovidrel last month. DH was my saving grace! He gave it to me again last night. I just can't bring myself to do it. Some ladies on here mentioned icing the area first, that way you won't even feel the needle go in.

Don't wait until tomorrow for a nurse if you are supposed to start tonight!
I swear it's nothing! Ice up the spot a little - you won't even feel it. After you do it you'll laugh that you ever were scared of it!! Good luck!

I totally agree! Ice it a little, you can do it! Good luck! If you wait till tomorrow you may mess up the cycle. Do it really fast.

I still ice and have been doing them for years.  I'll never forget my first shot- DH came at me- I screamed and jumped away and we scratched my stomach w/ the needle.  I cried--- then iced and after like 30 mins I did my first shot (I closed my eyes and DH gave it.) Now I give myself my stomach shots.... I ice, then pinch, and inject.  You can do it!!!!

LOL thanks for making me laugh!! DH warned me not to scream in case that would happen- Im a screamer too.

Before my very first injection, I started shaking from fear and crying and told my dh I wasn't sure if I really wanted to have a baby. I can't help but look back at that now and laugh!! I've probably used over 100 injects since then, including intramuscular!!

The first one really is the worst. Now I could do it with my eyes closed. The best is when you have to do it in wacky places. I've done my shots in church basements, bathrooms of restaurants, and even in the car! Glad it went ok!
