For those not haing a baby shower
are you still going to register? I am not 100% sure that I will be having the traditional baby shower but definently a get together with my friends and family. If I end up not having anything, should we still register? DH thinks that we should and then when it gets closer to the due date, buy off the registry what we need. DH also thinks that people will buy us gifts even if I dont have a shower. Any suggestions? TIA!

I am 90% sure I am not having any type of big shower -this is my own personal choice (though lately my Mom/MIL is asking that we do something 'small" like a luncheon - so we'll see  )
but irregardless of wheter I have a shower or not, I did go ahead and register at BRU for most everything. The only things I did not register for was the nursery furniture/bedding, since DH and I wanted to get that stuff in advance ourselves.
I registered because I knew that people would want to get us things anyhow -- shower or not -- in particular at our jobs, etc. And for myself it helps me keep track of what I might need to buy as the due date draws close..

i think you should even if you are not having a shower - it doesn't hurt - inevitbaly people want to buy you things and this way, its stuff you want or need!

I didn't have a shower and still registered and pretty much got everything from my registry anyway.
