What are the essentials for a nursery room?
What would you say is absolutely essential to have in a nursery? I know there are many things out there but a lot Im sure are not essential. If you had to limit yourself what would you absolutely need.

crib and rocking chair/glider. We had an armoire for Eddie which we barely used, bc we had a really good closet organizing system. We arent even getting a changing table this time around since the nursery is tiny and we spent most of the time changing Eddies diaper just on the floor, or the couch or the bed (on a changing pad of course!).

We are getting crib, glider and dresser that will serve as a changing table. None of the pieces will be a set, just all white. I'm not looking for forever furniture b/c I know babies/toddlers are rough on their furniture. I'm doing the Ikea Hemmes dresser. I'll also probably do a toybox and the Ikea storage system with baskets. We have a big closet in the nursery already.

Thanks ladies  I have a 2nd bedroom which I plan to make into the nursery. It is a small room and I do still have to keep a full size bed in their for guest so I am very limited in space. It seems like the three essential items are a crib, glider and dresser.

Instead of a bed, can you have a compact pull out sofa? Would give you more room and a comfy place to sit. I like the rocking motion of a glider, but a seat is a seat!

I would love to put a compact sofa in there but 1-I cant really afford it. 2- It would be nearly impossible to get a compact sofa/sofa bed up into my apartment. My hallway is extremely narrow.

I'm thinking of getting a mini fridge. We live with FIL and he is always buying too much food so there is not a lot of room in the refrigerator to store the baby's milk.

I just had my furniture delivered today.
we did a long dresser that doubles as changing table, crib, and an excellent glider and ottoman.
