Dr. Braverman - Blood Work $$$

Hi ladies,
I am supposed to be getting extensive bloodwork done with Dr. Braverman...something like 26 vials taken! I believe he said that insurance (Empire) would cover the majority, but that I may have to pay about $800 out of pocket. I was taking notes when I spoke to him, but now I can't remember how much he said. I just want to be prepared for the bill. Does anybody recall how much they paid? You can fm me if you feel more comfortable. TIA

It depends on the panel he orders, hard to say from your post. I assume it is with Reprosource, you can call them to ask the details.

It's probably the thrombo panel and the monitoring panel (immune).

Can you go to quest or a regular lab on your insurance? If so, the thrombo can be done anywhere for whatever your bloodwork lab fees are. That was 28 viles

For the monitoring/immune, it has to be done through Reprosource. Quest only does 2 of the 4 panels. Reprosource charges a max of $450. It's normally $2140. You pay $450 and if your insurance pays anything over $2140, they reimburse you. I hadn't met my out of network fees so I paid the $450. Still better than $2140

max of $450 PER PERSON. first time, we had to have me and DH tested, so $450 times 2.

I did it too................I think i paid the 450 and ins pd the rest..it was s mall fortune but it revealed my IF issues....pcos and nk's...but ive still got old eggs to deal with..boo hoo!

i did the reprosource panel too. the first time i paid the $450 insurance, but my insurance covered a lot of it - although i am STILL waiting to get that money back . the second time i opted not to take the insurance from reprosource and my plan (UHC) covered it all.

We did a lot of testing and we did everything except that one panel. He said that in my case, we could test everything else first and look for abnormalities with the other panels first and if we didn't find anything then we would do the $2100 panel. We also had empire and it would have been around $800.
