Q of The Day 5/8/11
It is Mother's Day! I know it is a hard day to celebrate for some of you. But lets celebrate the "Moms" that mean something to us!~
Tell us a few things about your Mom (or someone like a mom to you). What ever means something to you, makes you laugh, funny story or special moment.
**I will be posting the next FMOTW later tonight!**
Have a great day ladies!

Re: Q of The Day 5/8/11
My mom was a single mom for good part of my life. She was hard working and taught me great work ethic.
Mom is a great cook. She uses words like "pinch", "dab" and "palm full"- I worry my versions of her recipes will never be as good as hers!
Mom taught me to drive when I was 16 in a park. She made me drive every where on every road and I have never been afraid to drive since.
Mom is now going to college for the first time in her life and I am SO proud of her.

Re: Q of The Day 5/8/11
Sometimes I get wrapped up in what my mom did'nt do for me (no help for college, no relationship advice, etc.) and I forget the things she did. By the time she was 23 she had 3 girls which she had to raise on her own and on a small salary. She made many sacrifices to make sure we had a good future even when it meant taking a part time job as a pizza delivery person. My mom has physically and emotionally fought for our well-being. No-one messed with her kids. Because of her I have aspired to do more with my life than just settle down with the first jerk that I met and pop out kids and stay living in the ghetto.
ETA: sorry for the crude writing but this is a good mother's day question, and it just made me very emotional. or maybe im just hormonal

Re: Q of The Day 5/8/11
I think what I am going to say will sound like a cliche, but my mom is truly the best mom in the world!!!
Growing up and until today, my mom is the type that always put a smile on our faces and even our friends. The amount of love that always ran through my household is something that can be admired and definitely appreciated. When I was in HS she became a SAHM and it was amazing to come in from school and always have snacks, stories and just her being there. Hugs, smiles, kisses and love where always a constant in my house. Now as an adult my mom is one of my best friends. We speak at least once a day and I just hope that the day I am a mother I am be half the mother that she has been
Happy mothers day to all you Future Mothers!! This year was not our year, but next year we will be celebrating.
