WBLI this morning around 6:55 anyone listen?

They were talking about Mother's Day gifts, cards, etc. and who should receive them. Jeffrey was saying that not everyone should and Dana was saying that she sends cards to everyone even expectant mothers. Jeffrey snarkly said, you'd send a pregnant teenager a card. She said she would and then told her story that last year, when she was 8 months pregnant, her she husband bought her a thoughtful card.

Well- I of course couldn't keep my mouth shut and I called in

The first question they ask is "Hi caller, are you a mother? I said, Yes, I have 6 angels in heaven.
I said, what about Mother's who have lost their children either to SIDS or miscarrige? Do you include them, send them a card or buy them a gift? I know Dana would agree with me. They are mothers' right? Including myself, I have friends and family who have a hard time on Mother's Day and a simple card, means alot.
Dana said "That's true. I didn't think of that." Thanks for calling. Click.

Being that there are tons of women in Washington D.C. today in front of Congress to address concerns and problems with infertility, healthcare coverage, etc. I had to my part, if I couldn't be in D.C.

YOU are a mother, in a way we all are already mothers. For those who have had losses and those who have not been pregnant yet, we are mothers. We are doing everything possible for a our children, they are not here yet but we are trying. Mothers sacrifice, put their needs aside to put their children first, is that not what we are doing? We have to struggle with appointments, medication, injections, side effects, changes in our body that are a result of us trying, etc. We don't have them yet, but we will and the same way that we are trying everything to have them, we will continue to do everything we can to raise, love and nurture them. I am glad you called them and made them aware, people tend to forget or ignore the other side of parenting, the struggles and hardships. Good for you, every voice counts.

I think it's great that you called. I would have loved to have gone down to DC. I actually kind of thought about it, but I've used all my days off for my 3 IVF cycles this year.
