AF Question

My period has always been really regular, comes every 28 days to the day, lasts 4 days maybe 5 then onto the next month. The past 6 months has been way off for me. Nov. Dec. and Jan I was late each time. Feb was normal and now March and April (I got AF twice in April) came 28 days apart but has only lasted 2 days of actual flow (but a lighter flow than normal) and the last day just some light brown discharge.

I've been off the pill for a year so I dont think that's it. Is is normal for AF to change so drastically? I'm going to call my doctor monday to see what she thinks because I'm concerned about what if a really short period could affect my ability to get pregant. Does anyone else have really short periods or has it changed so drastically for anyone?

Re: AF Question

Have you been really stressed, had a change in eating habits, lost weight, etc? You'd be surprised what makes your hormones/body do wacky things... if you don't think much has changed you could check with your dr. but most likely it's nothing to worry about. I'd maybe make an appt just to safe espec if you are TTC it might speed things up for you.

I dont feel like there's been any big change, stress or any of those things other, I've considered that too. The only thing that has changed in the past few months is starting to TTC which I have considered could be the cause of it because Im thinking way too much into everything. I wish there was a switch sometimes to just turn everything off Chat Icon

I'm calling my Dr. tomorrow to see what she thinks.

Re: AF Question

I'm not sure that a short AF would have as big of an effect as a short LP. Do you use OPK's or temp?

I would try the digital OPK's for a month or two just to make sure nothing is out of the ordinary and to get a better feel for your cycles.

I used OPK's last month and everything did what it was supposed to do. I guess I got a lil freaked out bc I said something to my SIL about it and she was like I dont think that's good. She got me nervous.

It is weird that they've gotten so much shorter, but I wouldn't worry too much about it until your doctor tells you otherwise.

If you're ovulating, and you have an LP of more than 10 days I wouldn't worry right now.

I think my LP is right. If I got AF on 1st, got my LH surge on the 13/14ish and got AF again on 28. That's about right, right? Chat Icon

That sounds perfectly normal.

When you get AF, how heavy is it? (sorry if that's TMI) Do you have a heavy flow the first day, or both days? Or is it really light both days?

I think TMI goes right out the window on the TTC boards Chat Icon
It used to be heavy one day and then moderate the next 3-4 days.

Now it's kinda just moderate both days and very very light for half of the 3rd day
