deciding on furniture is driving me crazy!
We were thinking of getting kind of cheap furniture & a good crib. But even cheap furniture is expensive (in my opinion.) I can't even find a dresser/changing table & armoire for under $1,500 once you include tax & delivery. Then we still need the crib. Ikea is inexpensive but is that being too cheap? What are you girls doing for furniture? Are you just going all out & getting the good stuff or doing it n a budget? Just wondering, thanks!

we got ours at BBB and the armoire was prob the most expensive piece...
but some sets are not that expensive, maybe if you opt to get a dresser instead of an armoire?

Re: deciding on furniture is driving me crazy!
It made it crazy too!!! I went with the gut and first thing I really liked for the crib. It was more expensive than I wanted, but not INSANE. It's good quality (Munire), and it should last us for a long time so worth the price.
The dresser I could not justify spending over 500 for, so I am going to look at Ikea or other places. We have a dresser from IKEA and it's honestly not bad quality! It wont last forever, but oh well!
So I did a balance of budget and good quality.
Good luck! I know it's a pain.
We have no room for the armoire right now, so we cut that. Could you maybe just get a dresser or two instead to save?

Re: deciding on furniture is driving me crazy!
have you checked out -walmart - they have nursery 101 - it is given an A rating by baby bargains - they have a 3 piece set for $250 includes, crib, dresser, and changing table'
as a btdt - i would not invest in a really nice crib - so many kids use the crib as a teether - yes you can put something on the rails but the gummy one will mark the crib - and the wraps might not work perfectly - kids bite down hard when teething
also - there is no guarentee that you will be able to use the crib for another child - if you have kids close together you may not wannt to take the older out of the crib - also you could be like me and be surprised with twins and need a smaller crib that our really nice one we bought for our son

Re: deciding on furniture is driving me crazy!
I didn't realize Babys bite on the rails that much, I guess that's a good point about not buying an expensive crib. I'm going to look in my baby bargains book to see what crib got an A at walmart. Thanks ladies !

Ikea is rated very high in Baby Bargains, higher than many brand name cribs. I'm thinking of the Hemmes dresser from them. Also, remember more money does not mean safer, they all pass the same inspections.

Re: deciding on furniture is driving me crazy!
We got our furniture from BBB and we got the crib, toddler rail, full size bed rail, changing table/dresser combo and another dresser for under $1000 with tax. We used the 20% coupon on EVERY piece. We got the appleseed collection. It was VERY reasonable and very happy with the quality as well. You could also check out target or JC penny.

Re: deciding on furniture is driving me crazy!
I got my furniture from JcPenney's - so glad I did it that way!! I always thought I wanted an expensive convertible crib, but DS chewed on it and everything. I have a convertible, but i would never use it other than a crib for this second baby. I already bought a toddler bed FOR . I love my set from Penney's - check them!
