Girls who use CBEFM

So I will be starting to use my CBEFM next week when AF is due...but, do you still use OPK's? Or do you relay solely on the machine?

My first cycle I used both. It was more a curiosity thing for me. I don't think it's necessary though.

nope, not necessary. I only use the CBEFM. I confirmed that I O'd with the BBT chart last month so this month my CBEFM corresponded with my BBT chart perfectly. In my experience, using an OPK would be unncessary

Thanks ladies. I thought it would be pointless too but wondered if any of you used the OPK as extra confirmation

I used them. But I used them at night.
It gave me a peek into what the CBEFM would be reading tomorrow morning so I knew that night was a VERY important night and not to be skipped.

For example...
CBEFM you test in the AM.
So let's say Sat and Sun were High and Mon is Peak.

I would use an OPK Sat night to see if i got a smiley. if i did then I knew Sun morning on the CBEFM I would have a peak. If no smiley then I knew sun wouldn't be a peak.
Then I would test Sun night and if I got a smiley I knew Mon would be a peak.

it's especally good to do if you have more than 2 days of high readings and you are wondering when the heck that peak reading is going to get there.

so I didn't use OPK's to confirm... but to "predict" when the high reading on the CBEFM would be.
