Dr. Braverman insurance question
Does anyone know with his new switch to Batzofin for the IVF portion what insurance they take for IVF? I know Braverman takes my insurance, but I am curious if when the IVF goes through Batzofin, what insurances the lab takes. It says on Batzofin's website they are not participating with any insurance and all IVFs are out of network. Is this what happened to others that have used this lab, it is out of network?

I use my out of network benefits for the ER/ET part with dr batzofin. Not sure what happens if you do not have out of network coverage.

Thanks. That's what it says on his website. My insurance requires me to go in network in order to utilize my IVF coverage, so I guess I can't cycle with him.

Re: Dr. Braverman insurance question
Talk to dr b, he may be able to send you to afs for the ER/ET instead of batzofin

Not sure I would want to use AFS.

Re: Dr. Braverman insurance question
I REALLY DISLIKE afs BUT if I trust that dr b wouldn't use them if they weren't good drs. If I had no out of network benefits I would still go to afs if it meant cycling with dr Braverman. That's jmo of course

Re: Dr. Braverman insurance question
So Batzofin, where the ret/trans is done, does not accept any insurance in network at all? So if one goes out of network, you still end up paying a lot because the insurance only refunds you reasonable and customary, which is a fraction of what you are charged.
Anyway, my IVF contract states I must use a participating provider, so I guess this is out.

Re: Dr. Braverman insurance question
I don't know how all ins works but for me I have out of network coverage, dr batzofin's office submits my ivf portion and gets paid 70%, I'm responsible for the 30%. I do not believe they accept any ins in network for the ivf portion but if you do all your monitoring etc there that I believe is done as in network. I would call them and dr b and find everything out for your particular ins. And again if you want to cycle w dr b you can ask if he can send you to afs so that the ivf portion is in network if they participate in your ins

Thanks so much for all the info. I appreciate it. I most likely would not go to AFS, heard too much negative about them and not from here. Yes, monitoring would be in network, but the bulk of the bill is the ret/ trans/ ICSI, etc. Unfortunatley the way my IVF portion of my insurance is written, I MUST go to a participating provider. I am surprised they take NO insurance at all. All the facilities, even the big ones, take at least some insurance in network. Thanks again.
