Girls who have had nose jobs...

I saw from the plastc surgery post that a few ppl have had them.
I've always considered it, but never had the guts to get it done.
Do you like your results, or regret it?
How much did it cost?
How long does it take to recover?

Thanks!!!

Re: Girls who have had nose jobs...

I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!!

Love love love my "new nose" although Ive had the new one almost as long as the original now, LOL!

I **think** it was around $6000 (in 1996) but Im honestly not sure bc my grandmother paid for it.

If I recall correctly, I was more or less laid up for 4 days or so in a lot of pain. About a week after I was sore, and the drip from the disolvable packing went on forever!!!! It was SO gross.

My face was a mess for much longer after. The bruising probably took a full 6 weeks to go away, from the swelling it caused a ton of blood vessels in my eye to burst and the white of one eye was marroon for like a month, it was CREEPY! The swelling and new form takes about an entire year to completely settle, but I would say by 8 weeks or so, I looked normal.

It looks WAY worse than it feels.

Re: Girls who have had nose jobs...

I absolutely LOVE the results. I don't regret it for a second. Mine cost around $9000 (I had it done in 2006).

I highly recommend seeing a surgeon who does digital imaging. I was able to SEE what my nose would look like at the consultation. Had I not been able to do that, I wouldnt have gone through with it. I didnt want a "barbie" nose. I wanted to still look like me, just fix some imperfections.

The recovery wasn't painful at all - just uncomfortable. You cant wear glasses for several weeks, sleeping was difficult at first, the splint was on for one week and then they remove it. I was in bed for 2 days and then forced myself to get up and move around. I would say it was 1 week (basically when then removed the splint) before I could move around normally. Once the splint was off you feel a tad more human but you will have bruising all over your face for several weeks. I think I had bruising for 3 weeks (but they made me start taking vitamin E (I think...or A...I cant remember) about 2 weeks before surgery to help prevent some of the bruising. I was swollen for about 6 months - but its not terrible swelling. It sounds worse than it was. I was visibly swollen for about 2 to 3 weeks. After that, the swelling was still there but only YOU will notice its swollen. To anyone else it'll just look like a normal nose.

The other thing is that the tip of your nose will be somewhat numb for quite some time (because they sever the nerves when they cut), so I couldnt really feel much if I touched the tip of my nose for about 8 months to a year - but this again is something that you dont even notice unless you touch your nose or rub it.

I have to say, overall, it was a relatively easy recovery. It sounds like "omg you're swollen for 6 months!" but in reality, its barely noticeable swelling and theres very little pain associated with the recovery. In the end, I'm so glad I did it. My nose was broken as a child and I've always been so self conscious about how it looked. This gave me so much more confidence and it doesnt even look like a nose-job nose.

I had mine done in White Plains. Let me know if you want the name of my surgeon. He was AMAZING and made me feel so at ease. He does fantastic work. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Love it! No regrets, my dr swore no pain and doesn't believe in packing after surgery so I didn't have to endure the removal of that. I think it cost me 6 k ! I used Dr. Studin in Great Neck. I was back to work in 5 days.

Re: Girls who have had nose jobs...

Had one in 1997. Great decision for me, no regrets.

I had a deviated septum and due to the twisting it made a bump on my nose that could mostly only be seen on my profile. I hated that bump.

So I had the nose job. They did have to "break" my nose just to fix that bump.Chat Icon My nose was packed. I did bruise. The packing was the worst part, feeling like you could not breathe for afew days. It was swollen for a long time after that so it got even smaller than when the bandages came off.

For me, my dr only repaired the bump and straightened that out. He wanted to touch the tip a bit and accentuate it more, but I said no, I didn't want that. Turns out in the end, once the bump was gone, the front view looked even better. Looks very natural b/c we didn't carve or sculpt the tip, just removed the bump. Love it. Great choice for me.

I def rec my dr. Dr. Stephan Warman. Cost me about $3000 b/c my insurance paid for alot and that was only the cosmetic portion. My dr even allowed me (at that time) to pay in installments (I paid for it myself). Chat Icon
