anyone's DH have to be on a antibiotic?
had a appt with Dr.B today and they r putting my dh on a 14 day antibiotic..sandra said he had some bacteria in his sperm with is very common..she said 90 percent of men have it..but it can hinder getting pregnant
they also r putting me on dexamethasone..prob spelled that wrong lol..
does anyone have bad side effects to it?
so we left and i said to my husband..u have dirty sperm and i will have roid rage..u cant make this stuff up

We have done a few cycles with doxycycline. Its required for both couples to be on an antibiotic with ivf too. Dr.B uses that in people's protocol often since it can't hurt.
I have also been on dexamethasone for all of my cycles and haven't had any side effects. I take it in the morning with breakfast.
You will be fine!  Good luck!! These are all pretty common protocol.

My DH was also on antibiotics for 2 weeks. It def helped.
I have been on Dex for over a month now and thankfully I dont have any side effects. I also take it with my breakfast.

i am wondering if you remember the name of bacteria and levels. I am asking b/c my DH had some minor levels of staph, but dr T ( at the time) told me it is normal, as they come off from ahem... when he donates sperm. I was actually asking him to prescribe DH antibiotic for this, but he did not.

I take Dex too, also with breakfast. If I take it with dinner it keeps me up allll night...

my DH had to be on doxycycline a few of my dr. B cycles, and then cipro during my IVF cycle.
i also was on dex both .75 and 1.5 for several cycles. i also found if i took it at night it kept me up and ruined my dream sleep cycles. but if i took it in the AM it was better. otherwise no other side effects i can remember.
