Newbie and Question about DPO?
Hi I am new to the website and board! I was wondering when you start counting DPO. According to an ovulation calculator I used online my last day of possible O would be on April 5th. Would that mean I am 5 days DPO? Thanks for the info and good luck to everyone!!

Yes, if you Oed on April 5th then today is 5dpo. You start counting from the day you O. So the day after you O is 1dpo. Good luck!

I have a question too.
If you are using an opk when do you start counting dpo? If you get the :) do you assume the next day is ovulation and then the day following that is the first day you count from?
Example, I got a :) on 4/2. How many dpo am I?

If I got my smiley on 4/2, I would count 4/4 as 1dpo. Since the smiley indicates O anywhere up to 48 (or is it 36 you think I would have the memorized by now) hours, I go with the longer amount of time.

this is what I do, just to be safe. I started temping the month in conjunction with the OPK so now I know for sure. But like the PP said, I consider two days after O day when Im not temping.

Re: Newbie and Question about DPO?
Ok that is kind of what I thought. I figured I was somewhere between 7 and 9 dpo so I tested today. I bought a bunch of Dollar Tree test so I wouldn't feel guilty testing and so I could get it out of my system. It was a BFN.
I hope a BFN at 8 dpo can turn into a BFP. I guess only time will tell.
