how often...

do you call your MIL or does your MIL call you just to say HI?

I NEVER call her because I think she is extremely annoying and doesnt shut up once she gets going. DH passed a comment about she thinks I hate her because I never call her. BUT - she never calls here either, and when she does call, she calls when she knows I am not home or she calls DH on his cell.

However, I talk to my parents daily, sometimes multiple times a day (whether they call me or I call them). They even call DH when they know I am not home just to say HI to him.

I guess I was just wondering what the norm is with the MIL phone call situation - haha

NEVER for the same reasons...DH doesnt call her either,but will stop by to see her from time to time...its not like he ever calls to speak to my mom...so why should I call his!

I would only call her if something happened to Shaun and I had to let her know... shes burned this bridge a long time ago and i have no interest in repairing it...

She wouldnt call me either... she was locked out of her house for like 10 hours a few weeks ago and she didnt call me at all... She doesnt know our house #.

ETA: we both talk to my mom on a daily basis... Shauns a talker he also calls my brother sometimes to talk...

Never call my MIL unless I have a question or need a favor.
She calls me only if DH doesn't answer his phone and she needs to talk to him.
But I do go to her house 1-2 times a week since she cares for our puppy!

We never call each other unless we need something. It's not that we don't get along or anything...to the contrary. I guess it's just because we don't have that type of relationship. I talk to my own mother only like once a week on the phone (and that's ENOUGH)

we text like 2x a month, she will call me if she has to ask something specific but not too often. fil and i email all the time!

I talk to my MIL nearly every day. If we go more than 3 days without talking thats odd...

NOw that I am 37 weeks pregnant, she calls me every day to see how I am feeling, see if I need anything from the store, or if I would like her to take DS so I can rest, etc...

I know I am lucky my MIL is a really nice person and we get along great and I feel even more lucky because my mom passed shortly after my wedding so I feel like I got lucky to get MIL in the pkg with my DH

ETA: I talk to my brother like 2x a week, but my dad, I can go weeks without talking too! We are actually really close but neither of us has much going on to chit chat about and my dad is not a chit chatter by nature so unless we have something to talk about specifically he wants to get off the phone!

MIL calls DH on his cell phone nearly daily. I prefer it that way. it's not that we don't get along, but she really wants to talk to him to complain about something or another.

i usually dont call her and she doesnt call me.

she doesnt call her own son either! if she needs him she texts him! which i find crazy because i talk to my mom every day! (sometimes that gets annoying but yeah i rather her call me than text me randomly)

DH's family is not normal so i guess it doesnt bother him.

im perfectly fine that she doesnt call tho! LOL she will email me or text me if she needs something from me!

but even being pregnant you would think she would call and check up on me and see how i was feeling but nooope!

I talk to her probably 3 times a week and she visits me once a week even though she lives an hour away. She treats me like her own.

I call once or twice a week.. and she calls about once a week.. she gets to see DH every couple of days, so I think she's satisified with that.. our relationship is not shoddy but its not the best..

never. she will email me or text if she has something to say and i usually just email her if i have to ask her something. she only seems to call the house when she knows DH will be home and then i let him answer (thanks to the caller id lol). DH really only talks to her like once every 2 weeks. she lives 5 hours away so we dont see them too often either. but she is all over my facebook so i guess thats how she keeps up to date on our happenings.

I hate talking on the phone. I really only call to talk to my mom, sister sometimes, and husband if I need to get in touch with him (but we usually text). I'm not a phone person.

I will email MIL. She likes using email and will email me as well. I usually send at least one email a week to check in...usually more.
