Anyone heard you are getting FAT??? Coming from a fat, ugly F*** like my cousin's husband (they are both obese by the way). Yes that's right. The last time he said it I told him that is so rude to say to someone. Especially a pregnant woman. I said it in front of my mother’s entire judgmental family. I heard nothing but silence. Good for you for saying something Chat Icon

I actually just got something about my weight the other day. A woman that I work, her son came to visit her at work and she was introducing me to him and she said to him "just so you know she is pregnant" and he then congratulated me, and then she said "well I am just letting you know because I don't want you to just think she is overweight". Even her son turned to her and said "mom, I never thought that at all". I know she wasn't trying to be mean at all, but the way it came out made me feel so fat.

yeah, i just wanna slap people sometimes. somebody said to me "spend lots of time with hubby now, when the baby comes he might get neglected"

UM I had this baby BECAUSE of my love for my husband...and not my love of babies...just bc you can't maintain & balance your relationship doesn't mean I can't!

I'm well aware that without my relationship to hubby this baby wouldn't even exist and I don't intend to ever lose sight of that.

Re: Know what comment I hate?

Oh I hate this! Seriously people act like you'll never get even a minute of sleep ever again and will never have a second to yourself. Yes I understand that it's a huge change and adjustment but I doubt out of a 24 hour day I'll have zero time.

I also hate when people tell me I'll have no time to exercise! I will make time. There's got to be an hour I can devote to this. I mean give me a break; it's only an hour a day! Or I can easily take the baby for walks. People are ridiculous!!! Chat Icon

Just wait until the baby comes. . .

You will figure out how to clean the house in half the time it used to take you and it will be just as clean.

You will find the time to go out on dates with your husband but you will appreciate the alone time so much more.

Or, you will go on the most romantic dates with your husband with your baby by your side and you won't really mind so much!

You will fall into a new routine and still manage to get showered, hair done and makeup done -- and then your baby will smile when he sees your face and you will feel a million times more beautiful than ever before.

You will take your dog for more walks than ever because now you want to get the baby into the fresh air too! You will lay your baby on the floor and your dog will come over and bring some toys or a treat and hang out with you for hours.

You will sleep. You will appreciate cat naps more than the most amazing sex you ever had. You will realize that maybe you don't need to sleep until 2PM on Saturdays to feel rested, you will do just fine on 6 or 7 or 8 hours of sleep. Or, if you are lucky, your baby will sleep through the night and you will sleep right along with her.

Sorry for crashing, I just love this board and wish I could be back on it!

I HATE these comments. People always say this in regards to the dog (especially my in-laws). If I'm out taking the dog for a walk or playing with her at the park they will always say well that will end soon. Oh you'll have to find her a new home soon. I HATE IT. She's a lab, a family dog, she's our first baby, she's not going anywhere, blah. I hate it!!!

UGH i know exactly what you mean about the dog. Someone told me the other day "just wait til the baby comes, you will be kicking those dogs to the side". My two dogs are part of this family - yes it will be an adjustment, but life is a constant adjustment!! Everyone will be fine and my dogs and my child will all get PLENTY of attention - I am determined to make sure of it!

Oh I hate this too! My dogs are my family too; I would never kick them to the curb. They will get attention too. I'll make sure of it!!!!

Re: Know what comment I hate?

I am sick of hearing this comment. i know things are going to be different but i also know that my parents didn't sit around staring at the walls when i was born, they went out and they did things. maybe i wont get out as much as i like/hope but i am going to try.

I already have my MIL on reserve so DH and I can see the final Harry Potter installment. We'll go on a Saturday afternoon, DD will be like 2 months old, i'll feed her, we'll go to the movies, we'll go back to MIL and I'll feed her again and then we'll go to dinner. I might need to get creative at times but there are ways to be a parent, care for your child and still do other things.

She's an asssss. I got the remarks during my 1st pregnancy and this time I had it. The thing is whether I'm pregnant or not they always have something to say about my weight. Mine, my sister. They are jealous really. But I've had enough of their bs... I have no patience for ignorant jealous people.

I hate the sleep one one because I am already not sleeping well! - I wake up every time I turn in bed, I wake up a few times to go to the bathroom... I expect it to get worse when LO is born but geez. It's not like I am getting 8 hours of blissful restful sleep right now!

I do to!! Thank you so much Tilde! You just made my day so mich brighter!

Just want to add, I can't stand when people say "You just wait, you won't...." Everyone is a know it all.

My MIL told me yesterday to "sleep when the baby sleeps" as if it was the first time I ever heard that one. Thanks but as much as I will probably want to, knowing myself I will get caught up in doing something else.

yeah, i just wanna slap people sometimes. somebody said to me "spend lots of time with hubby now, when the baby comes he might get neglected"

UM I had this baby BECAUSE of my love for my husband...and not my love of babies...just bc you can't maintain & balance your relationship doesn't mean I can't!

I'm well aware that without my relationship to hubby this baby wouldn't even exist and I don't intend to ever lose sight of that.

Neither me nor my husband have neglected one another after this baby was born. She is PROOF of our love and with her here it has only grown. Yes, maybe we dont' have as much "free time" as we did before (obviously) but we still make time to talk, hug, cuddle, etc. Our love doesn't decrease because of an addition to our family and I think that's ridiculous to assume it will!

It's so nice to hear this. This was my biggest fear. That I will not love my husband the same way or that I'll love him less and love my baby more. I can never imagine loving anyone less or more. The love is just different. I've heard you love your hubby more after childbirth because you brought this little thing into the world and this is what I look forward to most. That we have this one thing that we both made join us in the world. It must be incredible!!!!

that is definitely true!! Your love just grows - it's an even deeper bond to share a child that you both created. Don't worry, Kristin. It will be good. I'll admit that I got a small case of Baby Blues that first week. I felt a little overwhelmed and frightend by all the changes (especialy with seeing Dh less). I remember just sitting and crying because I MISSED him & felt afraid that the rest of our lives would be like this - too busy for each other. But one week - that's all it was. Then we got a new routine going and now we spend time together all the time. We cuddle up on the couch and watch our favorite shows together- just like we used to. So don't be afraid if you DO experience that sudden fear in the beginning. Just know that it does get better - you just have to find your routine. You won't neglect each other, unless you decide to. And you definitely won't stop loving each other either!

Re: Know what comment I hate?

OMG i hate that too. Ugg. Just recently at lunch some people said. You think youre going to lay out all of teh wet clothes & put them in the dryer neatly? You think you will have time for that? Im like ummm you obviously do not know me at all. Yes i will do that.

And then it went into that i dont want a diaper genie. Becuase IMO i skeeve them. Id rather change the baby & throw the diaper in a plastic bag & toss outside. I got Oh yea sure youll have time to do that. Im like my sister did that too. With both kids. So im sure im more then able to handle that.

Ugg just because some peopel are lazy or feel consumed doesnt mean everyone will.
