During the week or on weekends- Showings
When you sold your house...When did you get your most showing appointments...during the week or on the weekend.
Do people call that same day for a showing or to make an appt for the next day etc?
I am such a type 1 personality that I was trying to plan!

Re: During the week or on weekends- Showings
I've never sold a house, but when I was looking for one, 90% of the houses I saw were on the weekend... however, the one we bought I saw on a weeknight (thursday). 1st day it came on the market, I saw it online & made an immediate appointment. Made an offer next day.
Good luck!
ETA: most of the weekend appts we made were made friday for the next day. We tried a few times to make a same-day appt with a few homes & we were denied. Never ended up seeing those houses.

Re: During the week or on weekends- Showings
Half on the weekends, half during the week (usually in the evening).
Most of the time we learned about a showing the day before, but on more than one occasion it was like "we're in the neighborhood, can we come by in about 30 minutes?"
One time it was "we're sitting outside the house now and want to see it, can we come in?" Ugh.
Fortunately we sold quickly!

IT varied. I got plenty during the weekday, weeknight, and weekend. Many times appts were made 24 hrs in advance. Sometimes I got calls if they could come within an hour or two, and I generally was ready within 2 hrs.

Re: During the week or on weekends- Showings
As far as weekends vs. weekdays, it depends, but I know that some of my serious buyers will take off work during the week to house hunt, if they have a standard M-F work week.
Some sellers do stipulate that they need advance notice (e.g., 24 hours notice for listings), but in that case, I think you lose a lot of buyers. I know it's totally inconvenient to have your house on the market, be available for showings, keep it in showing condition, etc., but I think if you want a fast sale, you want to let as many buyers through as possible. I try to plan ahead with my buyer appointments, but some times it is inevitable that I have to call the same day to try to schedule a showing.

Re: During the week or on weekends- Showings
When we sold our house luckily we didnt have alot of showings before it sold. We had 1 open house on the weekend, maybe another 4 weekend showings and a bunch of during the week showings.
Yes alot of people would call and want to see it THAT day. I had alot of scrambling to do because I wouldnt let my REA show it without someone there because we have a dog (friendly but still) so I had to have someone be there!
This was in 2006.

Re: During the week or on weekends- Showings
When we were looking at houses, we typically went directly after work (M-F) at 4:30-6:30. Our REA tried to give the people 24 hour notice.
