After reading so many other journals, I thought I would take a stab at it and chronical my IVF journey here.

Me: 34
DH: 34

Diagnosis: We have on DD that is 4 1/2 and are now experiencing secondary infertility. I have long irregular cycles and annovulatory cycles as well. No other issues were found. DH has bilateral vericoceles, where it has affected his fertility greatly over last few years. We have morph, motiltiy, and count issues.

3/10 Go for my annual appt at GYN. mention to Dr that DH and I have been TTC for ~9 months and nothing. Runs some tests; found to have annovulatory cycles. DH goes for SA at Sunrise Lab; comes back within normal limits.
4/10 Given provera to start AF. Clomid 50mg; no ovulation.
5/10 Clomid 100 mg ; 1 follie; timed intercourse; BFN
6/10 Clomid 150 mg ; 2 follies, timed intercourse; BFN
7/10 Decide to see an RE since I feel like that's where I should be. Clomid 150 mg; 1 follie, IUI; BFN
8/10 Clomid 150 mg; IUI; BFN
9/10 Clomid 150 mg; IUI; BFN. Spoke to RE about changing the course of treatment. DH and I state that we want to be more aggressive at this point; RE feels that this treatment is suffecient and I should be able to get pregnant with this.
10/10 Switch to a new RE. A whole new workup is done on me and nothing additional is found. RE does new SA at his office. He tells me they have more strict guidelines than a lab would have. SA comes back extremely abnormal.
11/10 Follow up with a urologist for DH; he's diagnosed with bilateral vericoceles. Given my history of annovulatory cycles and the decision not to do corrective surgery we are moving to IVF in the new year.
12/10 - 2/11 All prep work for IVF is completed at this time.
3/11 Start BC pills. Last pill 3/24. Start stims on 3/27.

Meds: Getting my delivery tonight!

3/27 First appt for baseline bloodwork and sono. Will get med instructions then.


3/27, 3/28, 3/29

Follistim 150 ius
Menopur 75 iu
Dexamethasone .5 mg

3/30 Monitoring Day
The nurse said it's still very early, but she said there were a whole bunch of little follicles there.
They have me on the same meds for tonight and I have to go back tomorrow.

What numbers should I be asking them for when they call? E2 from what I gather, but anything else?
I'm kind of concerned that they are having me come in again tomorrow, but of course I was so overwhelmed when she called that I didn't even think to ask why.


3/31
Because there are so many they have me coming in almost every day. So far everything looks good.

Meds for 3/31, 4/1
Follistim 150 ius
Menopur 75 ius
Dexamethasone .5 mg

Since I wasn't updating as I was going to the Dr. I'm going to do one big update. Meds stayed the same throughout the whole time I was stimming.

Started ganirelix on day 6 of stimming.

Trigger shot 4/5. Egg retrieval on 4/7.
At last sono Dr said there were 24 follies, so we wait and see what we get out of ER.

4/7 ER day..out of the 24 follies..21 eggs were retreived. Tomorrow start the dreaded PIO shots.

4/8 Fert report..out of the 21 eggies..18 fertilized with ICSI

4/9 Got the call that I was pushed out to a 5dt. ET scheduled for Tuesday.

May I ask - what exactly does this entail: "12/10 - 2/11 All prep work for IVF is completed at this time."

I believe I am heading towards IVF and am wondering what the "prep work" is. Thanks!
