Would gaining weight help infertility problems?
I'm 5'3" and about 100 lbs. Some people have said gaining weight would help. What's your opinion?

Re: Would gaining weight help infertility problems?
I am small and skinny and I was told to put on weight and managed to gain about 10 pounds. RE said underweight and overweight have higher instances of infertillity.

I don't think it could hurt. I was in a similar situation and gained some weight through IF treatments but I do not think it made a difference in terms of when I did get pregnant. I did gain a lot during my pregnancy though.

My RE never said anything about my weight. I honestly don't know how it would help but my guess is that if you are in the healthy BMI range, the doctors think your body is healthy enough to sustain a pregnancy.
IMO, if you get regular periods and ovulate regularly, you weigh enough to get pregnant.

Well that's my problem- I don't get regular periods and I don't ovulate. A couple people have mentioned over the years that when I want to get pregnant that gaining weight might help. I just didn't know if there was any truth to that and how that would help.
