HELP...with a Corned Beef and Cabbage recipe!
Hoping someone can save me a trip to the store!
Here is what I have:
a 4 lb flat cut corned beef cabbage carrots red potatoes celery onion pickling spices
and a slow cooker
NOW...every recipe I have looked at shows I need apple cider vinegar, beer, and other ingredients....
does anyone know if I can make this in the slow cooker, will it have flavor or do I need something else?

Cut the cabbage, onions carrots potatoes and put on bottom of slow cooker, put meat on top of them, add water and pickling spices. Thats all you need. I made one 2 weeks ago just like that and it was absolutely delicious

a couple of more questions...does the water ned to completely cover the meat? If you leave the cabbage in the entire time, will it get soggy?
Did yyou cook in high for 5 hours, or low for longer?

No you dont need to cover the meat with liquid.
You can do either high for a shoter time or low for longer time.. doesn't matter.. I dont cook the cabbage so I dont know.
