help me with temping
I know I can look this up online but I figured you girls are experts. This is my first month using the thermometer so please forgive me if this question seems ridiculous. I've been doing it right, taking my temp every morning and keeping a chart. What am I looking for? My temp drops/rises after ovulation?

Re: help me with temping
your temp rises after ovulation. it should stay higher for at least three consecutive days to confirm ovulation, and generally it stays high until AF (or if you are pregnant, it continues to stay elevated for a while). some people see a drop the day of or the day before ovulation, but not everyone.
if you are temping you should really read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. it really explains everything really easily. there are also a lot of websites that are useful for temping, like Fertility Friend.

Yep. Agree with everything Flowerwife said
Basically, temps should be relatively low prior to ovulation. Some women get a dip in temp prior to Oing then temps go high from .4-1 degree (I think) from previous temps. You should get 3 high consecutive temps to confirm ovulation. Temps then should remain high until AF arrives..some women get one dip in temp. before AF arrives. HTH

Re: help me with temping
For those who temp, are you consistent with the time each day and really take it before even getting out of bed as recommended?

Absolutely! Temp. must be taken at waking time. Do not do anything else until you take your temp. The slightest movement can alter your temp.

ITA with Flowerwife.
Just so you know, your temp can be all over the map during AF, but should for me would drop before O. If you use a website like Fertility Friend, they'll put in a coverline for you. After you O, your temp should spike over the coverline. 3 consecutive temps over the coverline means you O'd. Once O is confirmed, your temps should stay high until AF arrives (or not!)

thanks ladies. I signed up for fertility friend but I have no idea how to read this chart. What does the dash line mean?

The dashed line is there bc you missed a temp that day.
