Answer opks faulty? should we still BD just in case?
So wednesday night i took 3 OPK's after my doctor said i was about to O.
wednesday:
Answer- nearly positive
IC- positive
CB- smiley face!!!
Thursday: (tested twice)
Answer- positive
IC- negative
CB- no smiley
This morning:
Answer: Strong positive w/o a doubt
IC- negative
CB- no smiley
this afternoon-answer was just as dark as this morning.
what the h*ll!?!?!?!?! Why are the Answer OPK's positive and the rest are negative? And the answer ones are only getting darker and darker too! Is it possible that Answer isn't that exact because they seem to be a day or two behind the other ones?
Are the Answer brand not as good? not reliable?
ETA: we dtd wed, thurs, and today. Should we do one more day for good measure?

it is possible to get a positive opk the day or two after you o. so i would guess that you already ovulated but that the "answers" brand was just picking up the residuals of your lh surge. at least that is my theory!

the weird thing is that this morning and this afternoon on the Answer brand... the test lines were much darker than the control. Almost like i'm ovulating today. So odd.

If you read the back of the smiley box, it says that it detects the LH surge 24-36 hours before O. Some other brands of OPK's say 12-36. So maybe the smiley was picking it up at 36 hours before O and then the Answer's were picking it up closer to O.

My RE says the ONLY test you can trust is Clear blue...and you cant keep testing after your positive because any answers you get dont mean anything once you've already gotten a smiley...
