Introducing my little lion cub...Leontios!
Its been over a week and I haven't been able to post my birth story but after reading a few introductions from the ladies who were due around my due date, I decided it was time!
I was due on February 27th and with no progress in a week since my last appt, I was upset I was going to go later than my due date and I would have to return to work after a week vacation! After a talk with my sil about some caster oil (she took it twice with both children and went into labor the next day) and a lot of edging on from friends....I decided to try it! I figured, whats the worst that could happen, diarrhea? I was constipated for a few days anyways so figured it would flush me out anyways, lol! I took it around 8pm on Feb. 27th and in 4 hours, I was in the bathroom!! I ran to the bathroom 3 times, dreadful! sorry if TMI lol
HOWEVER, 4:30am rolls around and after a trip to the bathroom, I felt a contraction. My contractions were 3 minutes apart and not too intense. I called my doctor and he told me I sounded too calm and its probably still early...to wait another hour and then go to the hospital. I waited 2 and walked into the hospital a little before 8. I was a little over 3 cm dilated and they told me they were keeping me in. They broke my water 2 hours later and put me on pitocin to speed up my contractions, I asked for an epidural a few hours later. When it came time to push, I pushed for 1 1/2 till he finally came out! Pushing was very difficult for me...I didn't know how to do it! LOL All in all, labor was 11 hours and not too bad and the end result, a gorgeous little baby boy at 8 lbs 13oz, 20"! and I am soooooo in love! Image Attachment(s):
