High Blood Pressure
So apparently I have it! Add that to the list of things I have!
I am going to start on Aldomet. It is a pregnancy safe hypertension medication. Is anyone else on it? If you are...are you also taking your prenatals that contain Iron? Do you take your prenatal in the morning and the Aldomet before bed?
Any help or comments are greatly appreciate.

Funny, I found out I have HBP when I began ttc 2 years ago. I take Aldomet, morning and night. I take my baby aspirin and Vit. D with it. Never told to take separately. I take prenatal pills at night before bed

I keep reading everywhere that you shouldn't take anything with iron in it. I have to ask my Dr, but I was just wondering what other girls were doing.
What dosage are you on?

I am on 500 mg. 2x day of Aldomet. I don't take extra iron. I think there is some in prenatal pill.
Why shouldn't you take iron?

It says you shouldn't take iron and Aldomet together because it could weaken the effect of either the BP medication or the iron. I think I am just going to take the aldomet in the morning and before bed and take my prenatal in the afternoon. Try to space it out.
Did anyone gain any extra weight on Aldomet?

aldomet 500mg/day ive had this since October 2010...Im thinking its stress too..lost some weight hoping that helps!!

I went to my PCP today for something totally unrelated to TTC and my BP was sky high. So they decided to start me on Diovan 160/12.5 right away and said once I get PG they will switch me to the Aldomet.
