BFP question
Just wondering....when you do get a BFP how do you know how far along you are? I know most doctors recommend waiting until you are 6-8 weeks before coming in for testing due to the fact that some pregnancies detected too early can end in miscarriage.

Gestational age is 2 weeks at the time of your missed period... and for some reason they decided to include the 2 weeks prior to O in with it...
but once you go to the Dr and they measure the baby and thats when you will get your EDD

Re: BFP question
If you didn't track it and you don't know when you ovulated then your dr will guesstimate based on your last period. When they do a sonogram they can get a better idea

exactly!! the first sono will tell how far along you are.
also... sometimes you know your LMP but you didn't ovulate on CD14 so your measurements can be off depending on if you O'd late or early. It's best to calculate based on ovulation date... but not always practical because people usually don't know what day that is.
if you don't know either day... or even if you do... the doctor will measure at your first sono and be able to tell you how far along you are based on those measurements.
generally you are about 4 weeks along on the date of your due period.
