Pregnancy test question
Which is your favorite brand? Do you find the digital ones to be more accurate? In the past I've taken the first response brand that give you one or two lines and this was very confusing. At the time the first line was very dark and visible and the other one, although you could see it was faint. Obviously it turned out to be a BFN but just wanted to get your thoughts on this.
Also, did you ever find that not following the exact instructions could lead to a false positive? For example if they say to point it down with the window not facing you etc...

Re: Pregnancy test question
First Response seems to be the most sensitive...
Digitals require more hcg to show a positive result than First Response
ETA: False positives arent possible... but i dont see why you would face it down... theres no reason not to follow the instructions... if you dont want to look at it... go into another room...

Re: Pregnancy test question
I like the first response ones. They are sensitive and easy to read IMO.
But the digitals don't leave any doubt when they come up PREGNANT. You just can't trust them early on.

Why can't you trust the digitals early on?

because they require more hcg than the line tests... you can trust a positive but not a negative necessarily!

And by early on you mean before you miss a period?

Not necessarily... by early on we mean like 9 or 10DPO

Yep. IMO, using a digital earlier than 12DPO is a waste of money because it's only like 50-60% accurate before that.

Re: Pregnancy test question
My cycle is very wacky this month....I usually have a 28-30 day cycle and a 15 day LP....this month it seems i O'd much earlier then normal....now I am on CD 32 and I'm 21DPO. In the past week or so I've been getting cramps like AF is about to arrive but still nothing.

Re: Pregnancy test question
My favorite pregnancy tests are the internet cheapies because you can buy a lot of them cheaply, they are very easy to use, and I thought it was easy to read. I have irregular cycles and they allowed me to test whenever I felt like it without breaking the bank. They also let me continue testing after my BFP and the line darkened as my hcg increased, come in tiny packages and are easy to hide or carry with you, and you can order them online lol
I did not like the dollar store tests because they were annoying to use (was not expecting the weird dropper thing!), gave me a much lighter line than the internet cheapies, take up a lot of space if you want to stock up, and you have to buy them in a store from a real person.
I never tried a FRER because they are so expensive at the stores near me (3 for $25)
I also liked the EPT digital because it says "PREGNANT" if you get a BFP and gave me a bfp without FMU

How do you know when you O'ed?
If you are really 21DPO you can test with anything you want and get a BFP if you are indeed pg. If you think you might be, get a test and see what happens!

Re: Pregnancy test question
If you want a digital test... the clearblue easy digital pregnancy test with the blue cap (NOT the one you pop into the unit.. the single stick test) tests for 25 miu, which is about the same an FRER looks for.
I got a clear positive on the CBE digital test at like 10 DPO. The FRER gave me a faint positive.

there are some digitals that are just as sensitive as the FRER.
I know the CBE digital is the same sensitivity as FRER.

FRER is good.
What is that?
that's the first response test with the 2 lines you said you took in your OP i believe.
An FRER is a First Response Early Result pink line test.
