What are your favorite Ovulation sticks?
Hi ladies, I am about to go off BCP but don't want to start TTC until June. I have 1 DC who is 8.5 mos old - we said we'd wait til she turns a year until we start TTC. I am stopping the pill now to start watching my cycles - also b/c I had CRAZY cycles when I went off BCP last time. I have very long cycles - O'd on cd52 when I got BFP last time.
Just was in Target today and bought the 20 day Clear Blue digital (sorry I don't know the abbrev for this)....$$$$ but I had a coupon. I'm actually going to start using them in 2 weeks even though we are not TTC b/c I was really so all over the place last time going off BCP - I want to see if/when I ovulate each cycle off the pill.
I can probably use cheaper OPK's until I am TTC right? Which ones do you recommend?
Guess I will be joining this board again in a few months! I crash here all the time though..... TIA and to all of you!

I use cheapies and the clearblue digital. I buy the cheapies online..like a 40 pack for $10 once I get a pretty dark line on the cheapies I use the smiley face clearblue just to confirm. Also, if you continue to use the clearblue you may want to consider buying them on Amazon since it will be a lot cheaper. HTH and good luck

good to know - thanks. What brand cheapies do you use and where do you buy them? Great idea to use cheapies and then use the clearblue digital once you get a dark enough line... I have the clearblue fertility monitor - used it one cycle but it never gave me high days b/c of my long cycles...it stopped asking for sticks after only 20-something days. I know if I kept with it it would learn my cyyles...but my cycles are so all over the place - I think I should just stick to regular sticks...do you agree? TIA.

Re: What are your favorite Ovulation sticks?
I used the Clear Blue Digital the last 2 cycles. I got the :) both months. I think I would have drove myself nuts using the line tests. The digital is expensive but I need to check for the :) for blood testing each month. I'd be more stressed about missing it if I was depending on deciphering the lines. It seems a little more tricky that way.

I dont reallly know what to tell you about the monitor since I have no experience with it but I find the ovulation strips work great. Here are the ones I buy.

If you arent TTC yet then I wouldn't buy OV tests. I would just temp. That will give you the info and its FREE. then when you want to TTC you can start with the OV tests and you will know your cycle by then.

Very good point! I totally agree. Temping will give you a better idea of when you are Oing and all you need is a BBT thermometer.

thanks for the advice but i can't be bothered with temping...I'd rather spend the $ on the sticks!
