Who has used an OPK as a pregnancy test?
I know its not recommended but who has used an OPK as a pregnancy test? If you have, why did you use it instead of a pregnancy test and when did you get a positive reading?

sort of..i had a ton of wondfo ovulation tests and only a few preg. tests left, so just for fun i test with an ovulation test and the second line came out pretty dark...so then i just tried the pregancy test, and i got a super super faint line.

I got a positive on a OPK at 10 dpo. I didn't want to waste a digital preg. test, since that was all I had, so I took my smiley face OPK. The smiley face came right up!

I havent... And I probably wouldnt because I'm using the digital ones and I thought the instructions said not to read the lines anyway

When you use a OPK as a preg test, you do it the same way as to see if you're ovulating, so a positive OPK means a BFP on a digital. You don't have to look at the lines.

They're pretty accurate. OPK's can detect LH and HCG, since they are almost the same thing.... so as long as you know you definitely ovulated by temping or something, than it is a positive. They are not as sensitive as HPT though, so you might get a BFP later than on a regular preg. test. I'm sure there is a margin of error, just like any other test though.

I did this...only by accident! I have 2 canisters for them. 1 for OPKS and 1 for HPT..well one morning I grabbed an OPK which I thought was a pregnancy test and got a positive result..I was so happy!! And then I relaized what I did!!! Now I keep them on one shelf away from another..
But as far as I know you can't use the OPK for pregnancy tests!!
