Does anyone ever....

feel extremely overwhelmed at the thought of actually becoming pregnant? We all think about TTC and we pay attention to all the signs and are so excited at the though of getting a BFP but did anyone ever think about how they might feel when the BFP actually appears?
I was thinking about this the other night and got somewhat overwhlemed. I was thinking about how I will adjust once the baby is born and you have to adjust to a differnt routine. Thought about what it might be like to have to work and raise a baby especially with the lack of sleep, thought about how my marriage and relationship with DH might change. I am driving myself nuts. Re: Does anyone ever....

Have to agree with ang..after we mc any fear just went out the window..and a year of trying helps erase it too

But I think what u r feeling is totally normal...I'm just tired of trying and would simply give anything for a bfp so I don't care bout anything else lol

Re: Does anyone ever....

Having a baby is a very big step. DH and I wanted to make sure we were ready before we decided to TTC. Now it's all we can talk of at the dinner table. I don't think my relationship with DH will change for the worse it will only make it better!

I think when I first get my BFP..I think I will be in shock and be like " Nah..." " let me try this again" after 10 times of taking the test over and over I think I will be in shock but just showered with over excitment and happiness!!!

I can't wait for that sensation!!!! So excited to be a mom!! I am hoping to get my BFP soon!!!!Chat Icon

I was thinking about this the other day too. I know its going to be a challenge. My DH works long and often hours and I already have two dogs and one cat. Sometimes the thought of adding another thing to take care of scares me but it doesn't last long. I am so ready to be a mom and have been for a long time. There are things in life I could have done that would have taken me down a completely different path, my decisions have been made because I always wanted a house, a marriage and a family and that dream is almost here. Now all I need is that lovely BFP Chat IconChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

So funny you posted this because I was just talking about this. I made my SO promise me that our relationship will not change for the worse. I also was saying what am I going to do when everyone leaves me and I'm home with the baby by myself!! What if I drop him/her or do something else stupid and careless as I can be a clutsy at times. lol But from what I hear, somehow it just all comes naturally. I'm prepared to learn as I go.

Re: Does anyone ever....

First, Im scares $hitless. We have raise this little thing. Cloth it, take care of it. Love it, feed it.

We are 24/7 no days off commitment for at LEAST 18 years.

So yeah. I AM worried and scared. I know we will be good parents, but it changes everything.

My DH and I decided that the baby will be a slave to us, not the other way around. No BF (for many reasons). Date nights.

But we KNOW that our marraige is MORE important than the baby. If we are not happy, the child wont be. We have to always put our marraige first and make sure WE stay strong, in love and happy. So it really helped that we talked about it first and know where we both stand. Our maraige is SO important......

so yes. I'm scared. But I know I have my partner in crime right there with me :)

Yes. I get totally overwhelmed when thinking about it. But then I think of all the people that somehow make it work. Everyone says it is nothing like you have ever imagined responsibility-wise- but the benefits and rewards are unsurpassed and it is all worth it.

That's what I try to remember when I start to freak myself out.

Re: Does anyone ever....

I feel like this is a completely normal thought. It's a realistic view of what is to come. When I got pregnant with DD we were not actively trying so I had no time to think about the what if's. It's been a couple of years now and they were rough days at the beginning but SO worth it. Enough so that I am praying that I get to do it againChat Icon

Last year this time, I was superrr nervous about the changes in our lives....but a year has past, and now I feel we are really ready for it. These thoughts come into my mind here and there, but I know we can do it, and I can't wait!!!

You made a really good point here....if you dont have a happy marriage then your child wont be happy. I never thought of it that way. I know people get so caught up in the new baby that they forget about how they baby got here in the first place Chat Icon As long as you make conscious effort to keep your marriage strong it will work. I love that DH and I are still able to have date nights and vacations and I want to keep that going even after I get my BFP...this is very important.

If I think about this I want to hyperventilateChat Icon Chat Icon Sometimes I will think about coming home with this new baby and now DH has to go back to work and nobody is around and its just me. At first I might be ok dealing with the routine but what about when I have to go back to work! Sleepless nights not knowing what to doChat Icon I hope everyone is right and it does just come naturally otherwise were screwedChat Icon

I have always wanted the same, marriage, house and family but I still cant help but be nervous about all that lies ahead. I have 2 dogs myself and cant help but thinking how will I take care of the 2 dogs, keep a clean house, cook dinner, go to work and take care of a baby on little sleepChat Icon Oh and lets not forget to factor in exercising to keep yourself in shape or get back in shape after giving birth... Everyone that has children says it is well worth it even though it can be hard so I am banking on thatChat Icon
