How do you make Creamed Spinach?

My husband and I love the creamed spinach at Franks Steakhouse. I was wondering how you make it? I have a few boxes of frozen spinach in the freezer but don't know what to do with them.

I cook my frozen spinach in the microwave & squeeze it out in a towel to drain all the water. (a tip if it's still hot...wear your rubber dishwashing gloves!!)


2 tbsp butter melted in pot

3 tbsp flour whisked into butter. cook it over medium low heat till it just starts to brown (doing this cooks out the floury taste!)

1 1/2 cups milk whisked into flour mixture until it thickens( I usually use skim to save on fat so I don;t feel guilty about the butter!)

i season w/ salt, pepper & a little nutmeg

stir in the spinach!

Same as the above poster, exactly. I do it in a Bechemel sauce and it tastes amzingly like the diner type creamed spinich! Now I want some tonight!!

Love Frank's creamed spinach!!!

Instead of making it yourself, you could buy Seabrook Farms creamed spinach sold at the grocery store. It's pretty good. But not Frank's that's for sure.
