How Long do you fast for before 1 hour?
I have my 1 hour glucose test tomorrow a.m. at 9. I totally can't remember what my doctor told me about fasting. How long were you told to fast for before your testing? Am I not supposed to eat or drink for 12 hours before? I can't believe I don't remember this!!!!

Nothing after midnight. I took the test at 7:15am and passed.

no fasting.
i was told not to eat anything too sugary before the test.
i had toast, hard boiled eggs and cheese

I fasted 8 hours....failed though. I would suggest making sure not to drink anything but water from now until 10. Don't know if that's what did me in but it probably couldn't have helped either. JMO

I was told to fast. I had my test at 8 am and passed. Ate dinner at 6 and didn't eat for the rest of the night.

I was told not to fast, have breakfast and then be there at 7:30 to have the drink!

I didn't fast. I ate a small breakfast and then went to take the test.
I'd call your doctor and ask.

My Dr said to fast, but he did say its not really a fasting test, but that they get less false positves that way. I didn't eat after midnight the night before and my test was at 9:15. I did drink water in the am, and Im glad I did b/c the drink was thick and sugary and I dont think I could have choked it down if I was also thirsty.
I went yesterday, so I dont know if I passed or not...

I was told that I didn't have to fast. I just ate a very light non-sugary breakfast. My test was at 10 am.

I was told not to eat anything for one hour before I drink that stuff, which is 2 hours before the test. I drink at 7, test is at 8 so I can eat something before 6 if I want, but I dont think I will.

Same here. I was told no juice that morning. That's about it and I passed.
