Dental Cleanings
How often should one get a dental cleaning during pregnancy? Every 3 or 6 months? I believe my insurance only pays for cleanings every 6 months. Is Novocaine safe? X-rays and fillings? Thank you.

i went for a cleaning a few weeks ago. I personally wouldn't get xrays unless absolutely necessary - you don't need to for a cleaning (same for novocaine). I had some tooth pain and my dentist was going to do an xray but when I told him i was pregnant he said it's not worth it and i described my pain and he said it's probably sinus related and he was right because it's gone.
i would go every six months, which is standard I'm pretty sure.

i would go every 6 months. most dentists wont do xrays unless something is really bothering you and they HAVE to while you are pregnant

ugh, i haven't gone in forever. I'm very overdue for a visit! I need to find a new dentist though that takes my insurance!
