What to do with sausages?

What do you do with them? I usually like them BBQ'd but in the winter we dont BBQ much.

I've made a pasta with sausages but am looking for different ideas.

sausage and peppers or you can remove the casing and have it in red sauce with gnocchi.

I take the meat out and make sausage rolls b/c DH loves them; it's a British/Australian recipe.

Or you could make like a sausage bread (basically like an extra big sausage roll)... Use pizza dough from the supermarket (or ask a pizzeria!) and stuff it with sausage, spinach and cheese.. It is so yummy!

I have a "mess" I make in a pyrex dish -

Sausages, cut up in chunks
Potatos, cut up in chunks
Onion - cut up in chunks
Red Pepper - sliced in pieces

I mix the whole mess up in a bowl with a package of Good Seasons Ranch powdered dressing. Spray the pyrex dish with nonstick spray, dump it all in the pyrex, drizzle with olive oil and bake at 350 for about an hour.

Another idea is to slice them up, saute them, and put them into black bean soup.

You could make a Toad in the Hole with gravy, google it. Its a Yorkshire puding baked with sausages in it. A family favorite in my house!

I take it out of the casing and brown it like chop meat. Add a can of petite diced tomatoes. When warm, wilt a bag of baby spinach and serve w/ whole wheat penne.

So simple and so tasty.


Maybe take some polenta, in the bottom of a loaf pan, sprinkle w/ cooked sausage meat, top w/ sauce & motz cheese and bake? -- a take on a fritata?

I have thrown them on a broiler pan and broiled them. Then in a large pan sauteed a little garlic, onion, red and green peppers. Then I add in a little plan tomato sauce (not pasta sauce). When the peppers are done I slice up the sausage and throw it in there. Very very easy - and my girls and DH love it.
