RE diagnosis
This morning we had our appointment to go over the results of all the testing. Everything came back normal, so the diagnosis is unexplained fertility. The RE said that there are more invasive tests/surgery that they could to do determine if there is scar tissue but the benefits are minimal. He said we can start with a clomid w/ IUI cycle whenever we are ready. I'm glad to hear that everything is in working order, but a part of me wanted an explanation for why it has been taking so long!! We will probably wait another month of two before starting a medicated cycle. Hopefully we won't need it!

Re: RE diagnosis
i know it must be frustrating not having an explanation, but at least you didn't find anything majorly wrong and now you have a game plan!

Re: RE diagnosis
I wish you lots of luck
Try not to worry and have fun next cycle. You have a game plan now so that should take some stress off of you. I know, easier said than done! I am the queen or stress and worry lately so I should be the last one giving "don't stress" advice!

Re: RE diagnosis
I had the same diagnosis. It stinks cause I'd like to know why cause I feel like we could try to find a solution.
I started clomid IUIs last month and I think Im moving on to my next cycle.

Re: RE diagnosis
This was pretty much my diagnosis too. DH had a slightly lower morphology so that MAY have contributed to it but nothing else could be found. My RE said we could keep trying or we could move on with the clomid and IUI. I felt so silly taking clomid since I already ovulated on my own, but after over a year of TTC I just wanted to get PG. I am glad we went ahead bc we were lucky and it worked for us on the first try. A small part of me will always wonder if it was the IUI, the clomid, or neither that did the trick, but the end result is our little nugget and that's all that matters.
Basically, I am saying that so far, it sounds like you have a good prognsosis and my best advice would be to go ahead with your RE's recommendations.

Wow - you just wrote my post I had my RE appt yesterday to review all of my tests. They said all my hormone levels were "perfect" and there are no cysts, polops, fibroids, etc. My DH's #s are all normal too. So, they suggested Clomid and IUI. Where are you in your cycle - maybe we'll be going through this together.

Sounds like exactly what we are going through. There is a very slight MF. He has some abnormal sperm but he has an extremely high counts, so the RE said that it balances out. I will definitely go ahead with his approach soon. Next cycle I will be in Florida for day 3 monitoring so I will probably wind up doing it in April (if I don't get pg first!)

I am almost halfway through this cycle (around 32 days) but I think next cycle is out for me, since I will be in Florida for part of it. Probably won't do IUI till April. When are you planning on starting? Good luck to you!

What she said!
Like, literally, word for word.
Unexplained IF may be one of the more frustrating diagnoses ... you go to the specialist for answers and they run tests and tell you there are no real answers.
Did you have an HSG? I had a blocked tube that they were able to clear during the procedure (hurt like hell, but the end result is that it worked!). I don't know if I would go through Clomid & IUI if they hadn't checked out my tubes first to make sure the swimmers can actually meet with the egg, kwim?

Yes I did have the HSG. Tubes were clear

Today is CD31 for me. AF is very irregular for me. I have to call on CD40 (but its a weekend, so CD42 really) if AF hasn't come to get a blood test and u/s to determine if it's coming on its own and if not I'll get Provera. My guess is I'll get it by CD42 and then we'll start next cycle....
Good Luck to you too!
