another OPK question

Ok I know I may be really dumb and this has been prob been addressed before in previous posts, but when using the digital OPK I didnt get a smiley today but when I ejected the stick I noticed two blue lines, one being a lil lighter...does this mean that I will prob ovulate soon? Or is there always two blue lines visible?

i'm new at it too. But from what i know, the test line has to be as dark or darker than the control line.

In theory that makes sense but it didn't work like that for me.

I used the digital OPK this cycle because I needed to know when I was ovulating for tests. I started testing on day 8. Day 9 I felt the start of my ovulation pains so I knew I would be ovulating sometime within the next 3-5 days. Most times when I tested there was barely a line nex to the control. The day I got the :) there was a line but it wasn't as dark or darker than the control line. That was on day 13. After that my ovulation pains subsided so I know that I ovulated.

I'm glad I used the digital. I think I would have missed it with the regular line tests.
