Another CD3 visit

I went to Dr B this morning for my cd3 u/s. He suspects PCOS but wont know until he gets my blood test results which i need to fast for.
He added dexamethasone (sp?) to the protocol. Anyone taking this? Not sure exactly what its for?

Re: Another CD3 visit

yes, this cycle I did 5mg of femara and have been taking dexamethasone as well.

Dr. B told me that the femara can sometimes decrease the quality of the eggs so the dexamethasone is a steroid used to prevent that from happening.

All three of my cycles have been femara + dexamethasone, and this cycle seems to have worked (Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon), so I hope it does for you too! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

honestly, its hard for me to tell. this cycle i started metformin, femara, and the dex so I really can't tell what side effects are from which medicine other than my tummy problems from the metformin. I haven't really had anything bad though besides being extra tired.

I got you..
so this is basically to balance out the Femara.
he is also sending me to the lab for Glucose tolerance to see if I def have PCOS even though I dont seem to have any of the symptoms.

yeah if I remember correctly, they said that the femara can cause a high LH which then can effect eqq quality. The dex is supposed to stop the LH from getting too high.

pcos is so tricky. I have all the classic symptoms but didn't have any evidence in my bloodwork. other people show pcos in their bloodwork and have no symptoms. good luck!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

I had no noticeable side effects during my first two cycles. During this last cycle, I noticed an increased dry mouth, which I read could be due to the dexamethasone.
