Out w/ a question...

Last night on CD53, AF shows her ugly face.

After DH getting laid off and me being denied a deserved raise ("sorry, we don't have any money to give" as he drives off in one of his 4 luxury cars ) this was just the craptastic icing on the craptastic cake that has been my past 36 hours.


Now to my question...
So last night when I found out AF arrived, it was very light and didn't show up on a pad, only when wiping (sorry, TMI). Would I count yesterday as CD1 or this morning when it was a bit heavier. I want to take one of those FR Fertility tests but since you're supposed to take it on CD3, I'm not sure if I should take it tomorrow or Monday.

My dr counts day one as the day you see anything....others say full flow. The day 3 tests can be taken on day 4 and still give you an accurate result. SO I would say wait til four days from spotting and you should be covered.

IMO though I wouldnt trust one of the fertility tests....If you are concerned about it I would ask you Dr for bloodwork.

i count full flow as CD1... if you need a tampon or pad thats what i would count as full flow...

Well, if you want to take a fertility test (which I have) then I would count the day you saw blood even if you didnt require a pad/tampon. The instructions on the box say to count Day 1 as the day you see blood no matter how much of it you see. This is what I did. However, if it wasnt due to the test I would count the next day (full flow) as CD1. HTH

I need to have bloodwork done this cycle. On Thursday night I had some spotting and AF didn't come full force till the following morning. I called my RE to schedule the day 3 bloodwork and they told me to come in tomorrow. On the paperwork it says to count the first day of any blood as CD1 but since the spotting happened in the evening for me they are counting the next day as CD1. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks ladies! I just want to take it out of curiosity to see what it says. Since it comes with 2, I think I will take one tomorrow and one monday

i would count today as CD1.
and i wouldnt bother with the fertility test. all it tests for is FSH. a majority of women under 35 have perfectly normal FSH. i have PCOS and dont ovulate regularly on my own at all. and i have perfect FSH. so just cause your FSH is fine doesnt really mean anything about your overall fertility.
but if you are going to take the test anyway, which you prob. will, it doesnt make a big difference when you take it as long as its between really like CD2-5.

We were TTC a little before I got more active on this board and I was POAS every month, I was getting nervous so when one of the tests came with the fertility I took it and it said I was then the next month I got a BFP, (it ended in an mc but I'm hopeful to get it next time) HTH!

You could probably take it either day and be fine but I would count today as CD1.
