IUI ? Update

I have not been on for a while, heres a little info. I've been seeing a RE since November. We went through testing and come to find out that my right tube is blocked. Dr Keningsberg suggested that we take Clomid overidel and do an IUI. So last month I was out all of my good folloies were on my blocked side. His suggestion was to . I knew we would not have success. Now on to this month I've done the clomid went in for blood and sono on Tueday and now I go back tomorrow CD 13 for another blood and sono.

My question is would it be bad if we before a possible IUI?

Any advice would help me.

Update:

So I went to the RE on friday and they had trouble seeing my ovaries due to a ton of gas . I did not know that would happen so they scheduled me back for Sunday CD15. At that appointment they were able to see my right side had a nice follie at 22 and my left side had a few at 14 and 15. My right side is the bad side. .

So I got a call Sunday afternoon to come in and do an IUI for Monday and to take my overdel sunday between 5-8. I was shocked because the right tube is blocked and was not sure why they would want me to do this. So I go in on Monday and spoke with the doctor and they explained to me that there is a chance that they egg can sweep over to the left tube which is the good tube.

After the IUI was done they asked if I could go back on Tuesday, I was not able do to my husbands work obligations. So they said to the next 3 days after IUI.

So my question is has anyone ever had there tube blocked and the follie sweeps over?

my dr usually recommends obstaining for 2-3 days before an IUI. if you have MF, you definitely want to follow this. if not, you should be fine if you BD a day or two before the IUI.

If you have mf issues then I would ask the RE what is recommended.

From experience, I found that if DH held out for about 3 days we had a better count. The last IUI we did we only held out for about a day and a half and his count was lower. Good luck!
