Wives Tale
So I have posted before about 90% of people saying I am having a girl (I am 17 weeks Thursday), so I finally asked a co-worker who said it again why does she think that, she goes oh your face looks different. I said well they say a girl takes the beauty out of a mother is that what you mean, she goes no not at all your face is just different.
Is this true about having a girl, your face changes, cause I really feel like they are saying I look like shIIt cause I wouldn't be able to tell either way what a woman is having at 17 weeks....

Re: Wives Tale
eh. . I think these things are all accurate half the time - enough accuracy to carry on.
People just like to give their opinions, I don't think any of them hold up, (how you carry, baby's HB, morning sickness, face changes,) For every person I know who it was right for, I know another where it was wrong!
And IGNORE everyone who tells you anything about how you look! I'm sure you look awesome!

IMO, it's a bunch of BS I agree completely. Im having a girl and NONE of these wives tales are true for me. Not one!!!!!!! My face didnt change either. They are just a bunch of bs that lead to hurt feelings.
I truly believe that your face may change due to weight gain from the pregnancy. That does happen. Your nose could widen as a result of gaining weight in your face. Depending on your body type, that determines how your weight is dispersed during pregnancy. I gained in all the same places I would have, if I was just gaining weight and not pregnant. Old wives tales are just that- TALES!!!! They have no scientific proof!

Re: Wives Tale
Does it really matter? I mean, even if you do look like sh!t, doesn't all that matters is that you have a healthy baby growing inside you?
It's a freaking blizzard every other week and it's the dead of winter, the sky is gray, the days are short, and you've got enough to worry about between making sure you eat right, drink enough water, use the bathroom a zillion times a day, try to stay comfortable, etc, why does it really matter if some people imply that maybe your face looks funny? I'm sure it DOESN'T, but really, don't get yourself down about it.
I met a girl when I was 8 months pregnant and we became good friends. She said to me last week "OMG, your face is so long and thin!!!" -- I had no idea my face was rounder and fatter when I was pregnant. I never really thought about it. But apparently it's "back" now.
My body will never, ever be the same, but I do not care one bit. The baby is healthy and beautiful and we never, ever sleep more than 2 hours at a time, but who cares???
You're going to be a MOMMY!!!!!! Don't let weirdos telling you that you look different dampen your spirits. Keep it in perspective.

Re: Wives Tale
My face got super ugly when I was pregnant with DS. Thank gosh it went back after he was born.
I am now pregnant with twin girls and all everyone keeps telling me is how pretty my face still is.
I don't put much credit into any old wives tales.

I get what you are saying, DH told me the same thing, but you still want to look your best. The hormones don't help either....
