talk to me about follies please
I went this morning and I only had one follie 13mm. I go back on Saturday to check the size again, he said they should be around 20mm. How many follies does one usually have? Do you know if they will still do IUI if you only have one?
I feel very silly asking these questions because I feel like its stuff I should know. What ever happened to the good old days where you  and poof you got pregnant...

If you are on meds to help ovulation and production of follies it depends on how well you respond to the medication. So it is different for everyone. For instance last month I was on a lower dose of Gonal and produced 2 good sized follies on monitoring day, 20 & 21. This month I had the dose increased and still only produced 2 follies, but a better size, 23 & 21.
If you follicle is at a mature size 20-24 I believe is the range they like, they will still do an IUI. It only takes one.

everyone responds differently. one mature one is all you need. when "normal" ladies get pregnant, all they have is one 99% of the time.

I only had 1 follie for my first IUI (medicated), and it was not a problem. For the next one, I had two, and for this one, it looks like I will have two as well.

I thought the same thing because I always hear of people having a few. I had one jumbo 40mm one and a 17mm. They said the 17 would be about 19 the day after and had me trigger that night. I asked around too and it does only take one. They still did my IUI so I guess they were ok with just one.

I have had, I believe 9 IUI's in total and only one cycle did I ever get 2 follies....Other than that always one, including the one that got me my DS
