CD3 Today & Feeling Emotional
I went to see Dr. Braverman today, and I still like him a lot, but his front desk staff rubbed me the wrong way today, they were not very friendly.
Anyway, He did a sono and blood work and during the sono told me that I have a lot of Follices and was wondering if any other RE mentioned PCOS to me. I advised him no other doctor ever mentioned that to me, so he said he will wait until my blood work comes back to determine to do further testing. The plan is to go forward with the IUI this month with Follistim (150u) every other day and Femura 2 tablets a night for 5 days.
I'm so nervous and scared that something might be wrong with me, besides having severe MFI.
How many follices is normal for CD3? Did anyone ever have any side effects on Follistilm or Femura. Please give me hope. I can't stop worrying.
Plus, Kraupner is having problems getting authorization from my insurance company. I'm so frustrated already and the process just started. What will happen if I don't get the meds tonight?

sorry, i don't have any advice about the follicles but just wanted to say good luck and try not to stress out until you actually find out the results. cross that bridge when you get there!

Re: CD3 Today & Feeling Emotional
are your cycles irregular?
if you dont start meds tonight it doesnt matter at all. you just tell dr. B and youll start tomorrow. it doesnt matter what CD you start as long as its between 1-5 generally.
i have PCOS and your protocol was my exact starting protocol when i first did my first cycle with dr. B. from femara i had night sweats. thats the worst side effect i remember. from follistim the only side effect i had was bloating.
just take a deep breath and relax. i know it seems overwhelming at first, but once you get into the protocol you'll discover that its not such a big deal. also im sorry you had a bad experience with dr. Bs staff. i went there for a year and never had a bad experience. once they know who you are they are the most helpful people in the world (besides dr. B of course). there are SO many times that i needed an appt and they were booked solid but Margaret or Kim squeezed me in. countless numbers of times i called with various insurance questions and prescription questions and they never seemed annoyed. i wouldnt let one experience shape your attitude towards the staff.

Re: CD3 Today & Feeling Emotional
Thank you ladies so much. I need to relax and not be overwhelmed by everything. I did receive my meds. My DH did my first injection and it didn't hurt at all. I was very impressed.
I don't have irregular cycles, but we'll see what happens. It's out of my hands now. I'm just going to go with the flow and stay positive.
Regarding Dr. B staff-I like the nurse, but I think I just don't know the procedure of the office yet, so once I get into a routine with them and see them more often, they will know who I am. I was super nervous today too, so that might of been it.
Thanks again. I know I can always count on you ladies to help.

Re: CD3 Today & Feeling Emotional
This is my 3rd cycle on Femara, and so far, I've never had any side effects.
As far as Dr. B's front desk staff, I initailly felt the same way but now Kim and Margaret are both so friendly to me! I think we sometimes have to remember that they might be having a bad/busy day and are just trying to get things done quickly.
This is all so overwhelming at the beginning, but I found that once I got into the routine of going for appointments, it got better.

Re: CD3 Today & Feeling Emotional
Please try not to worry so much. If it turns out that you do have a problem as well, you are getting help now, so it will be ok.
The side effects that I had were night sweats from Femara and bloating from Follistim. Other than that it was fine.
You will be fine. Just try not to worry so much. Worry just a little bit. Let your Dr do the worrying from now on!
