Can we talk about acupuncture?
This keeps coming up in conversations. I'm beginning to think the universe is giving me a sign! Girls who have done this can you share your experience? Where did you go? Was it covered by insurance? Thanks!

Re: Can we talk about acupuncture?
I did acupuncture and really liked it. In 2007 I had a m/c and D&C in February and when I started TTC again (they made we wait 3 cycles = 4 or so months), I was very down and was having crazy long cycles. I started acupuncture and conceived my DD that first month. I kept doing acupuncture throughout my entire pregnancy. When I had morning sickness, it would vanish during a session and not come back for days - it was amazing! I also went a lot at the end to help bring the baby down and soften my cervix. But, the best part was that it gave me piece of mind and some faith that I was doing something to help the pregnancy since I was in such fear of losing the baby.
When I found out I was having a m/c this past summer, I went right to acupuncture to see if I could naturally have the m/c and avoid a D&C and/or medicine. I went to a few sessions and did m/c naturally. I don't know if it was b/c of the acupuncture, but again it made me feel that I was doing something.
I'd recommend it. Good Luck!!

Re: Can we talk about acupuncture?
I started acupuncture when my first IVF cycle failed. I really like it and I love my acupuncturist, so I think that helps. To be honest, I have no idea if it really helps. I just had my retrieval this past Thursday and I had an amazing experience compared to the first time around. I have no idea if the acupuncture had anything to do with my great recovery, but maybe it did. I start the process for my FET soon, so I'll let you know if I think it helps my lining. Overall, I think it's good. It obviously can't hurt, so I would recommend trying it.
I go to Andy Kaplan in Rockville Centre. I think he's wonderful and was recommended to me by Dr. B. (516) 297-9002

Re: Can we talk about acupuncture?
I am currently with Ron Sandoval in Huntington. I haven't felt anything crazy yet, but I do enjoy the one full hour of silence that i get :). Ron was recommended by Dr.B's office and so far I really like him. He was straight with me at the beginning, if you don't believe in it, it probably wont work. I am trying to be open minded. My insurance doesn't cover any of it but the $ hasn't been too bad. They do packages and I feel they are fair.

Re: Can we talk about acupuncture?
I have been doing acupuncture for about 3 years. I love it. It is relaxing and I feel calmer. I recently switched to Dr. Kaplan too and he is wonderful. I actually find myself falling asleep during the time with him.
