Had my first RE appointment today!
Went today for the consult. I am SO glad DH and I decided to see an RE. He made me feel so much better about everything. Almost immediately I feel more relaxed. He told me that BDing just once or twice during O week is enough and that driving myself crazy trying to BD ridiculous amounts isn't really helping.
They did bloodwork and I also had an ultrasound. I am on CD13, one week from O (I usually O CD18-22) and they saw an egg of the right size for this time. I go back in a week and a half for a blood test to make sure I Oed. DH will be doing his SA in the next couple of weeks and I have a script for the HSG.
I feel like they are really proactive here!! So much different from my OB that just said "you were pregant before, you'll get pregnant again".
Hopefully this will get us closer to Thanks for listening!

Re: Had my first RE appointment today!
So glad you had a good experience. He's right about the BD. My friend just got PG on her first try and BD only 2 days. I did it practically every day for 2 weeks at all the right times and nada! I'm sure she was more relaxed than I was too!

Re: Had my first RE appointment today!
That's awesome! I've been considering this...do you mind if I ask a few questions?
Who did you see? And did you need a referral of some sort from your ob? I'm 30 and have a 20 month old. We've been trying for #2 since May, and I was thinking I'd have to wait until May to see and RE. Just wondering if there are "rules" and who to go to!
I'm so glad you had such a good experience---hopefully this is your month : )

To answer your questions: I saw Dr. Palter in Syosset (Gold Coast IVF) I did not need a referral. I have a PPO plan and don't need referrals to see specialists. I felt that my OB wasn't taking my concerns seriously at all. We have been trying since May. I am 33 and did not wait the full year to see an RE. I just feel like something is off and there is no harm in doing some basic testing IMO.

Re: Had my first RE appointment today!
Thanks ladies!! It would be funny if I get a BFP this month, before the RE even starts testing!

Re: Had my first RE appointment today!
That happened to my cousin. She was pregnant when she was sitting in his office, without knowing it!
