Would you do 3 mo. of meds first...
before trying IUI or just jump to IUI if you have endometriosis?
Btw- AF is on her way and I highly doubt its IB.
My Dr. said we would try clomid for 3 months. Should I wait the 3 months or just jump to a RE after the first mo. if it doesnt work right away? My Dr. is following me with the clomid and trigger and everything, but I'd need to go to an actual RE for my insurance to cover IUI.
Also, anyone know how long it takes to get a consult apt. w/ Dr B? I might go this month during the current cycle for a consult so I can start with him if they say to jump to IUI.

I don't know if you should jump straight to IUI or stick with clomid/femara for a few months, but I would go straight to an RE and skip the OB/GYN. Moving onto IUI is a personal preference, but generally the monitoring is much better at an RE's office.
Good Luck!

Re: Would you do 3 mo. of meds first...
Honestly I wish I would have gone straight to an RE being that we had been trying for about a year and a half with no BFP's. I did 3 months of Clomid & timed intercourse before moving on to an RE. At my consult my RE said that we would need to try 3 months of medicated IUI's before moving on to IVF if needed (CT State Mandate). So all together I had 5 rounds of Clomid and then injectables. It is not recommended doing too many cycles of Clomid because it thins out your lining which increases chance of m/c and or no implantation. So this really depends on how aggressive you want to be.
Good luck & hope this helps.

i would go straight to an RE. i have endo and they say that these drugs can have negative effects on the endo and you can only use them for a short period of time (something like 3 to 6 months max) so i would want to make sure my chances are the best they could be.

Straight to a RE. OB/Gyns are simple not educated or experienced enough to deal with IF. You deserve a specialist. What sort of treatment you continue with is of course a personal decision. Knowing what I know now, I would JUMP into an IUI, it is a quick and easy procedure (think pap smear) and relatively cheap. You would not believe how fast time slips by when you are sturggling with IF.
Good luck

Re: Would you do 3 mo. of meds first...
Thanks ladies
My OBGYN is proactive and does a lot w/ endo and even does IUIs which I why I didn't mind going there. I''ll be monitored with labs and sonos and all.
But, my IUI will not be covered with them. They told me 3 instead of regular 6 before IUI. I think I'll do this first cycle, but go see Dr. B so I can begin next cycle if I need to.
