Just finished watching it... it ended soooooo sad I was crying. Y did they have to make that happen? 
It was a good epsiode though.

They were hiding numbers in the backgrounds! It was a countdown from 60 I think. We didn;t notice it til it was at 35.

I thought they were counting down to the moment they would go conceive or something like that...but it was a count down to Marshall's dads death...soooo sad!

The ending was really sad. But I wasn't happy with the episode on a whole. I mean one exam and they know Lily is "very fertile"? No blood tests, no monitoring, nothing. Not believable to anyone going through IF.

DH and I were definitely yelling at the TV... I really want to be pregnant before Lilly...I know its silly but I am going to be so disappointed when she gets there first!

they have been ttc for a few months and they both went to the doc and turns out hes got great swimmers and shes very fertile... but the very end of the episode they kill his effing father... what the eff... lol

seriously. i hate when sitcoms try to go all serious. it threw me for an emotional loop. since i feel for lily and whatshisface i totally imagined myself in their place, losing a parent. thats my greatest fear.

DH came down and we were watching like we always do and we were saying the same thing... well, actually, we were saying... ok, so if Lilly is "very fertile" and Marshall has "great swimmers" then WTH is the issue? And wouldn't they be more confused as to why they're having problems?
Although they really didn't talk about how long they'd been trying either.
My other issue comes from the episode where she had the + HPT and then the doctor said "you're not pregnant" which was really, really weird IMO. For someone who takes her temperature "every hour"  do we really believe she took ONE HPT????
Sorry but there's so much about this entire story line that bugs me.
DH and I were very unhappy at the end of the episode. We both had tears in our eyes. I turned to him and said "I thought this was supposed to be a comedy!"

I just came to post this too. We are watching on dvr now. We noticed the numbers too.
I noticed lately they have them talking about temping and poas. It's like watching a LIF TTC sitcom Funny, not many shows touch on TTC stuff, especially not a sitcom.
(and "Wesley Wyndham Pryce" is on this ep. - I know someone has to pick up on that one  )

I never saw that ending coming!  The whole episode was lighthearted humor and them BAM! I thought it was a cute episode up until the last two minutes.

omg i looove this show but i was shocked at last nights episode! I totally did not see that coming and cried like a baby
i didn't really notice the countdown at first...I did notice a few numbers throughout and thought it was odd but then i saw people commenting on the countdown so I re-watched. The episode is called "Bad News" so the countdown goes until the bad news comes. so sad.
