Injured - VENT
Ugh I just have to vent. I strained my hip flexor (badly) about 3 weeks ago and have had to completely rest for the past 2 weeks. I am going INSANE. I don't know what I will do if I can't run soon. My poor DH - I am snapping at him like crazy and I am ususally so laid back.
I know its best to rest it now and I have the rest of my life to run, but I didn't realize just how much running meant to my mental health. Pray I get better soon!!

Resting is definitely important if you are injured, but I completely understand where you are coming from. My DH has been resting for about 2 weeks and it has been killing him.

Re: Injured - VENT
Have you tried active release treatment (A.R.T.)? I do it and it has helped me with many aches and pains. Some chiropractors do it, so it's actually covered by your insurance if the provider is in your plan. It's a soft tissue treatment and many athletes get it done.

I was going to post something similiar. I hurt my knee this weekend I hate not being able to run. I hope you make a speedy recovery! It's awful being sidelined and really does take a toll on your mental health!

Re: Injured - VENT
Today was my first day back running after 3 weeks off. I learned my lesson last time. Take the time and get better. I ran on a broken toe over the summer and is screwed up my knee from me adjusting my stance to protect the toe. Have you looked into a yoga dvd. A mellow stretching one might help your hip feel better and will help your mental health. Of course ask your doctor first. I have loose joints and dislocate my hips. Yoga usually help them feel better.
