Starting WW after having a baby

I had DS almost 4 months ago. I gained alot of weight with him - 60lbs.

I was a size 8 before I got pregnant - up from a size 4 or 6(depending on cut of clothes) when I got married 3 years prior, so I was already miserable about that weight gain.

DS hasn't been an easy baby - colic and acid reflux. So to say my focus on dieting and getting into the gym hasn't been my first priority or any for that matter is an understatement.

I really want to get going on losing this weight because personally its affecting my mood and DH is paying the consequences. I snap at him for everything because I am just so miserable at the way I look and tired because of DS.

None of my clothes fit and I don't want to buy clothes in my current size. So I am in sweats all the time at home and oversized sweaters and maternity pants for work.

When I got married I was so into working out and eating healthy. I just can't find that motivation right now.

I need motivation to kick start this. Any BTDT moms who used WW to lose the baby weight?> How long did it take you? What was your gym routine?

I know WW recently changed their plan. How hard is it to follow? Have point values changed for alot of the food?

Any easy snack/meal ideas that I can have on hand to avoid eating bad food.

Thanks!!!

Re: Starting WW after having a baby

I hear ya. I was always a size 6 or 8 and after having two babies (2007 and 2009) it was so hard to lose the weight. I was 35 lbs heavier than I was when 2007 WITHOUT the baby

I started WW in July and I am down 25 lbs!! it has been gradual but WWW really helped ,me with my eating habits. I also try to get to the gym 3-4 times a week.

I was buying size 12 and making myself sick0-----now I am buying size 6s!!!

u can do it!!!

Re: Starting WW after having a baby

Another mommy here who is on WW.

I started after my 1st when I couldnt shake off 6lbs for nothing.
I did WW, lost it all and then some. I loved it.

Got pg and back on WW after the boys were 3mths old. I had 10lbs to loose to get to pre pg weight and Im 1-2lbs away (i fluctuate cause of the holidays, lol).

I love WW. I got my MIL to start the program.

I think the program is the same as it was in the past. Honestly I dont geel any different with it and just need to follow it because it does work.

It consciously makes you aware of what is going in and how to make better choices.
Whole grains, fruits/veggies...and the best is that you can induldge and not feel like you are cheating.

Re: Starting WW after having a baby

I totally hear you..I had 2 boys in 10.5 months so the first time I never got out of maternity pants...This time I am so done with being "bigger" then my normal. Like you, it all affects my moods & I am so snappy at DH.

I just joined WW & plan on starting on Monday.
