Pasteles in/near Shirley, NY

Hi! Anyone know where i can get good pasteles for the holidays? I went to a bodega last week somewhere in Brentwood, but would like to know if someone knows of any place that is really "good" and really "homemade"...

I don't know your area but think that since Patchogue is closer than Brentwood, you have a better chance there. Pasteles are mostly Dominican and Puerto Rican, right? I have a few friends who make them but I can't think of where to buy them.

I am working with a young Dominican lady tonight. Let me ask her and see what she says.

Thanks! Yes, it's mainly a Puerto Rican dish and made usually during the holidays...usually we get them from family, but this year, since I'm on bedrest, we wont be going anywhere for Xmas but staying home and won't be seeing most of our family :(

Did you try that San Miguel place in the shopping center on Montauk Hwy with the Subway in it?

I think there is a ton of places in Patchogue..don't go to the bodega in Yaphank..they blow.
