Hi ladies! Today's question:

What about pregnancy scares you the most? the possible loss, the weight gain, the labor? If you already have a DC, is there anything from your last pregnancy that you are scared to repeat?!

To answer my own question, I am less scared of labor now that I have been through it and wound up with a C. I am scared of loss though. The first trimester is very scary to me, with all the uncertainty.

Re: *Tuesdsay 12/21 QOTD*

Since we had a loss last time so late in the game, that's what scares me most now. I'm terrified of having a loss at ANY point- though especially of thinking everything is fine and then finding out there are terrible complications.

That's what happened last time. At 16wks, we found out he was a boy.... next thing we knew, he wasn't going to make it. It was the biggest shock of my life. That's def what I'm most afraid of for next time Chat Icon The uncertainty and the fact that you really just never know.. and the sh!t really CAN hit the fan

I have to agree with this. After having my ds I'm not afraid of labor/delivery or the weight gain. I can deal with all of that as a part of pregnancy. The constant worry in the first trimester is super scary to me.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon A friend of mine had a very late loss of twin girls at 25 weeks. She is pregnant again and just passed the 25 week mark and can finally relax and breathe. I can only imagine how hard it must be to have that uncertainty so far into the pregnancy. Loss is a terrible, terrible thing. I pray that your next pregnancy is full term and you have a happy healthy DC.

several friends of mine have gone through losses so that is always on my mind. And on a less serious note, I've always had stomach issues so I'm sure morning sickness would be really fun Chat Icon

To all of you who have suffered losses Chat Icon that is my biggest fear.

Other than that I am sure once I am closer to it labor will scare me. But honestly at this point the only thing scaring me is not bringing a healthy baby to full term.

Re: *Tuesdsay 12/21 QOTD*

i had alot of terrible complications my whole pregnancy with my daughter which resulted in preterm labor at 24 weeks that was unstoppable till i recieved a t-pump and sent home on bedrest and home monitoring system. then pre eclampsia and an emergency c-section and then almost dieing during the section. I think all of this is whats scaring me 10fold then the first time because now i have DD to worry about. what will happen to her if im in the hospital for mulitpul days like last time, what if im on bed rest, what if i die duruing the delivery... uggh EVERYTHING is worse this time

Re: *Tuesdsay 12/21 QOTD*

Loss scares me too.

....I'm also afraid of post pardom. I've had depression/anxiety issues (meds and all, and I'm off now and actually doing ok...) but I read so much about PP and I just hope I can get through it if I have it.

Re: *Tuesdsay 12/21 QOTD*

a loss is very scary to me.

I also have anxiety and so I am always thinking that I am going to have some complications that could kill me or cause me to become ill. I hear stories like that one someone posted recently about the woman who died shortly after birth because pregancy caused her to have heart problems. While I know these cases are rare, they terrify me.Chat Icon

Re: *Tuesdsay 12/21 QOTD*

I am petrified of a loss. They are so common but the late term ones scare me the most. One of my bff had a loss at 38 week, ughhhhh.

2nd fear is morning sickness, etc.
